Emotional qualities

Ylang ylang Extra is rich and openly floral, sweet to the point of tropical, with a sensuality it makes no apology for. It does not quiet a room so much as fill it. The air turns warm and heady, closer to full bloom than to stillness, and it carries more than comfort in it: warmth, play, the pull of wanting. It is the scent of a space given over to pleasure rather than productivity, an evening room rather than a working one.

Comparison with Similar Scents

Ylang Ylang vs. Jasmine absolute

Jasmine is heavier and more complex, intensely floral, with an almost indolic depth that can feel intoxicating. Ylang ylang is sweeter, lighter, more playful for all its richness. Jasmine keeps its sensuality close and inward; ylang ylang sends it out across the room. If jasmine is sensuality that turns in on itself, ylang ylang is sensuality that radiates.

Ylang Ylang vs. Rose Otto

Rose is elegant and romantic, soft and rounded, the classic floral. Ylang ylang is more vibrant, almost tropical, bold with a sunlit warmth that rose never reaches for. Rose reads nostalgic and still; ylang ylang reads immediate and warm. If rose is romance in a timeless register, ylang ylang is sensuality in an exuberant one.
