1. Who we are
Symbiosis Living, 29A, 3rd Floor, 23 Wharf Street, London SE8 3GG, United Kingdom. We are responsible for your personal information. For anything about your data, write to hello@symbiosisliving.uk.
2. What we collect, and why
- When you write to us through Say Hello or by email: your name, email address, any order number and your message. We use them only to reply to you.
- When you buy something: your name, delivery address, email and what you ordered, so we can send your order and keep the records the law asks of us.
- When you chat with Wren: what you type, so Wren can answer. Conversations are kept by Chatbase, the service that runs Wren, and we read them without names to understand what our readers ask. Please don't share personal or health details in the chat.
- When you ask for the Journal letter: your email address, used only to send the letter. Reply at any time to stop it, and we remove your address.
- Payment details go straight to our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.
We do not sell, rent or swap your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. What stays on your own device
Some parts of the site remember things in your own browser, and nothing is sent to us:
- your answers and results in the Self-Reflection Quiz;
- the room records you keep in the Glossary;
- the Journal post you were reading, so the Journal page can offer to take you back to it;
- small display choices, such as which sample you last viewed.
You can clear them at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.
4. Cookies
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not run visitor analytics. If you open the chat with Wren, Chatbase may store a small identifier in your browser so the conversation continues from page to page. If that ever changes, we will update this page and ask for your consent first.
5. Who helps us
A few trusted services handle information for us, only for the jobs below:
- Web3Forms passes Say Hello messages to our inbox.
- Chatbase runs Wren, our chat companion, and keeps the conversations. It loads only when you open the chat.
- Our payment provider takes payments securely.
- Royal Mail receives your name and address to deliver your order.
- Our website host serves the pages and keeps short technical logs, as all websites do.
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces, so your browser contacts Google when a page loads.
- Google (Gmail) holds our email.
Some of these services are based outside the UK. Where information leaves the UK, they protect it with the safeguards UK data protection law requires.
6. The legal reasons we rely on
- Contract: to take, send and support your order.
- Legitimate interest: to reply when you write to us.
- Legal obligation: to keep sales and tax records.
- Consent: if we ever send you emails you have asked for, you can stop them at any time.
7. How long we keep it
Messages: for as long as we need to answer them, and no more than two years. Order and tax records: six years, as UK tax law requires.
8. Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to limit or object to how we use it. Write to hello@symbiosisliving.uk and we will answer within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
