Where does your home hold feeling?
Emotional Topography of Home
A map of how different parts of the home hold different feelings.
Choose a space to step inside. The plan is a conceptual home: yours will look different, and that difference is part of what makes it yours.
The coloured dots show which of the six aspects a space often holds. They are a starting point, not a rule. Each home, and each person, mixes them differently: your bathroom may be about Stimulation rather than Restoration, or both at once.
The plan grows lighter towards the top and deeper towards the bottom. In The Poetics of Space, Bachelard noticed the same thing in houses: up in the attic we think clearly, in the light; down in the cellar it is darker and stiller, and closer to dreams.

The six functional aspects describe what a home does for you. The rooms describe where it happens. One room holds several aspects over a day, and one aspect moves through several rooms.
